Alleged Copyright Violation edit

Some anon editor has alleged copyright violation. Firstly, it is silly for Anon editors to do such a thing. Secondly the text is certainly fair use. Thirdly there is specific permission from the copyright owner. "Apart from any use permitted by the Act, the ANU grants users of this site a licence to print, download, copy and paste text and search results into other web-based documents and link particular articles within the ADB Online to a user's website, for non-commercial purposes only." I have been bold and removed this blanking. NBeale (talk) 06:30, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Any editor, registered or not, is welcome and encouraged to note copyright problems. Wikipedia's licensing does not allow us to accept text licensed for non-commercial use only. We can only use text that is licensed compatibly with the GFDL, which allows reuse and modification. See our copyright policy. In terms of fair use, we have policies regarding this as well, set out at WP:NFC. Moderate amounts of text may be used from copyrighted source if placed in quotation marks and used verbatim under such circumstances as set out there. I see that this text has been removed. It will need to be revised or handled properly under NFC to be utilized. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:03, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
