I thought this writer was interesting enough to warrant a page. Except the title has her name spelt wrong! (How do we fix that?) If others don't pick up the job I will return to do the right thing....but please note I've left good references. Jeremytrewindixon 08:18, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate Article at Marie Bjelke-Petersen

Something humorous has happened here, I have been working on and off at a page on the lovely Marie at Marie Bjelke Petersen. How this happened will become apparent if one checks the discussion page there. The two pages are complementary and just need to be blended. I will add the citations rquested on this page. One of the citations concerns the non-hyphenated version of the name, which is correct!Jeremytrewindixon 02:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

What has happened is that another page has started up at Marie Bjelke-Petersen, more detailed in some ways than this but obviously without the advantage of access to Alison Alexander's excellent work, which is the source of this current page. In my opinion a bit of baby was thrown out with bathwater there, Ursapien. In particular, from the point of view of someone interested in the development of Australian literature, Marie breach of the "bush stereotype, is a large part of her enduring significance. So I've restored that bit. Also some of my remarks about her style are I think worth preserving. And the fact that she was a painter is also important. Alison Alexander questions whether it is true that "she was more poular overseas than in Australia", ceeratinly she was published overseas rather than in Australia but that is a different matter. Have continued to re-edit page with material from AA's work. Don't have page numbers to hand but will put them in. While MBP's painting did not achieve prominence she was signiifcant as an art teacher.....so there is another head of interest fro her. Jeremytrewindixon 10:49, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Immortal Flame Date

As I wrote the original stub Marie's novels were listed together with publisher and year of first publication. The publisher had been edited out, apparently in line with wikipedia's (strange) practice.....you can hardly call it a bibliography if you don't list the publisher, if known. But that is a side-issue, more importantly the editing got the date wrong for The Immortal Flame. The first edition was published in 1919, not 1926. There was another edition in 1926. I'm very unhappy with the "life" section of the article, btw, its on my lsit of things to eventually get back to. Jeremytrewindixon 10:31, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
