While information on Robeson's mother is limited, the article tells significant parts of his background by telling about her and the family - they were educated, rising class. This is an important aspect of African-American life in the 19th century that many people don't know about. That's why she is worth an article, as are granted other mothers of famous men, who are known mostly for their sons' achievements in the world. She worked as a teacher and influenced those children to make something of themselves.Parkwells (talk) 13:38, 15 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Actually I missed the fact she attended university, which was probably quite a noteworthy thing to do for an African-American woman at the time. Overall some more info is needed about Maria Louisa Bustill, rather than piles of original genealogical research about her family/children. Any information trawled from the census data/family genealogy pages/Findagrave etc. is clear WP:OR and not appropriate for Wikipedia. Sionk (talk) 14:29, 15 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
