This is a well known author and women's rights activist in Yemen closely involved in the revolution. If you read the sources, you will understand that even CNN mentioned them as an agent of Change on world news. The Mona Eltahawy and Manal Al-Sharif pages have not been deleted. I can remove the CNN picture.

Have people who actually followed Yemen's revolution look at it. I have only added English media, as I am new and am not sure if English wiki supports Arabic media. Before you mark something for deletion of historical significance from a developing country far away from your home, please bother to spend your time reading the articles. This person if you read the articles is a crucial figure in the Arab spring, developing a system of turning citizens into journalists and developing a media eco-system that changed its course.

I saw previous articles of foreign female journalists deleted. The reason why women are not in the tech sector is because they feel hostility because of their gender at every single stage and no support.

Can we pause for a bit to give the article a bit of breathing space? edit

I've looked at the debate about this article and don't believe it is a candidate for speedy deletion, even though there are some issues that need fixing. The author wrote it without adding the references tags (an easy oversight) and then it was tagged by an enthusiastic editor who didn't appear to have spotted the issue with the references and perhaps assumed there were none, also an easy oversight. I'm now going through the article to sift the sources and shape it into house style. I think it would be helpful to give the article a few days grace (at least), and then make a decision based on how it shapes up. Libby norman (talk) 15:44, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article now improved a bit in a first fix, although still a work in progress. A bit more time please. Libby norman (talk) 21:17, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

She is known for more than one activity, so beyond Miss Universe and on to activities during Arab spring. I don't think this is a valid candidate for speedy.
