Maiju Lehmijoki Gardiner has demonstrated the the "Rule of Munio of Zamora" was not written until about 1415. Munio did write a "form of life" for some Dominican-affliated women in Orvieto but Margaret could not have followed that rule. She was a freelance penitent under Dominican direction.

The article states that "In Margaret’s time, such Dominican female penitents were unregulated by the Church." In "Dominican Penitent Women" (2013) Maiju Lehmijoki-Gardner mentions "the Ordinationes of Munio of Zamora, written in 1286..." although Munio himself may not have written the formal rule for Dominican penitents. Margaret of Ypres died in 1237, long before any rules for penitents were formed - Epinoia (talk) 19:15, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
