Possible New References edit

I am interested to know if anyone has some suggestions about possible extended references for Marco Basaiti. Right now in addition to the listed references I have found:

* Hazlit gallery, February Exhibition, Italian Masters, Paintings and Drawings, Marco Basaiti
* Mazzotta, A. Prospettiva: 'Portraits' for Jacometto Veneziano, Marco Basaiti and Andrea Previtali
* Alessandra Ottieri. Laguna di Venezia, mare di Galilea: la "Vocazione dei figli di Zebedèo" di Marco Basaiti
* Momesso, S. Prospettiva: The art of the early-sixteenth-century Venetian painter Marco Basaiti

However I am always open to other suggestions. Also is the large grouping of references that debate whether he was Greek or Albanian necessary? I feel like this reference section could be condensed as this fact does not seem like an integral part of his identity as an artist. Esmithwick (talk) 18:48, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Greek or Albanian edit

Probably neither, but Babinger says he was Albanian, and so does Giuseppe Valentini, who am I to disagree? Added references duly. --Perkohesisht ai i vjetri (talk) 18:28, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

References about whether he is greek or Albanian edit

I am currently trying to update this article and would like to know if all the references are necessary about whether Marco Basaiti is from Greek or Albanian descent? The only bearing I have found that this could have on his life is that these type of communities generally kept to themselves and had records independent of Venice which could account for the lack of information about his personal life but I do not believe that his parent's heritage had any large impact on his painting career as a whole. I may be wrong but I have yet to find convincing evidence otherwise so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated. Esmithwick (talk) 19:05, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Of course it is all very silly - purely a nationalist dispute, which is normal on Balkan matters. Johnbod (talk) 03:53, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions that will be helpful for improvement:

1. The sentence describing that Vasari hadn't known about several names that Marco Basalti had can be moved to paragraph under sub-title. Introduction should mainly contain concise summary. 2. Collect more detailed information and documentation about his personal life and background. 3. Use more concise grammar and direct/active sentence structure. 4. Delete repeated sentences and content. (eg: “Not much is actually know about his life.”) 5. Use more formal language instead of casual words. 6. Upload more illustrations of his artwork, especially the portraits of religious themes which he focused on. Evelyn y (talk) 04:24, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
