Recommend (another) renaming edit

I am short on time, added to my agenda, but not on short notice (needs also adjustment of redirects!)

  • Comment If this proposal is part of a broader effort to reassess article titles for Italian airports, could I also highlight that I had similar concerns about Marche Airport, which I came across recently. I've not seen "Marche Airport" outside of Wikipedia and am much more used to "Ancona" or "Falconara", which is what the Italian-language Wikipedia still calls it. Editor Jbarthel moved Ancona Falconara Airport to Marche Airport back in April 2016. If WP:COMMONNAME ends up influencing the decisions here, interested editors may consider proposing that the article be renamed back to Ancona Falconara Airport. • I agree with that and would support such a proposal. My issue is mostly that the airport names are currently an inconsistent mess so wanted to tackle the low-hanging fruit. Avgeekamfot (talk) 03:11, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment On Marche I sure agree to rename "back". Upon your comment I reached out to the airport and received the following statement (shortened): "I confirm that the name of the airport has changed once again: after Aerdorica was bought by a foreign fund at the beginning of 2020, its name changed into Ancona International Airport. As far as the airport name is concerned, it changed from Aeroporto delle Marche into Aeroporto di Ancona-Falconara." Jbarthel (talk) 09:00, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
