1952 vs. 1959

i don't believe that she was born in 1952. That would mean that she was 40 when she had the hit STAY and i don't think that she looked like a 40 year old woman — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.204.130.142 (talk) 13:37, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Marcella Detroit hey jimmy its izzy yo sis i love you sweet cheeks mwa !!(born Marcy Levy on June 21, 1959)

She first began playing with the Bob Seger band in the early 1970s, before joining Eric Clapton’s band in 1974.

Are these two pieces of information consistent?!

My question as well, she seems pretty young to be touring and writing "Lay Down Sally". Can someone confirm with non-wikipedia based information. dml 03:50, 1 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Did it myself, despite the proliferation of misinformation, its 1952 not 1959, see [1] dml 03:57, 1 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Well, i looked at google and i found moslty the year of birth 59... well i looked not at evry link... but at the links i was looking, there she was born in 59 -- User:Steloh 20:08, 2 April 2006 (Signature added by Bensin 13:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC)) ..... i get an email from the webmaster of her homepage... shew as really born in 1952User:Steloh 12:17, 11 April 2006 (timestamp added by Bensin 13:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC))Reply

While I agree 1952 seems a more likely birthdate given her her career stats, unless someone can provide viable evidence of it, surely the 1959 birth date should remain given this is the one Detroit/Levy herself uses? Smurfmeister (talk) 12:13, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

How about common sense? If she went on the road at 13 or 15, surely there'd have been a big deal made of it, then if not later, or it would be acknowledged in bios of Seger, Clapton, or herself. Zephyrad (talk) 01:06, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

On her web site's biography page [2], it says she was 18 before opening for David Bowie with the band Julia in 1972. Also, her biography says she was friends in school with Don Was [3] who just happens to have been born in 1952. It seems there can be little doubt here actual birth year is closer to, if not, 1952.Lipsquid (talk) 17:40, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from changing her birthday unless you have better documented proof than her own web site. She was not born in 1959. http://web.archive.org/web/20070624104849/http://www.marcylevyband.com/marcybiog.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lipsquid (talkcontribs) 18:19, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rather than adding links to outside sources, the article would be better served if you built up the article using reliable sources. XinJeisan (talk) 08:29, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Marcella Detroit

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Marcella Detroit's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
