File:Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno.jpg)

Refactoring

edit

I edited this article after a bit of warring back and forth. The grammar and structure were subpar at best. It still has some problems - the biography section has no sources and reads like someone associated with the subject wrote it. The "Controversies" section was also refactored. The issue with the disability comments was duplicated, and I removed some of the more problematic entries per WP:BLPCRIME as I could not establish that Piraquive has actually been charged with either organized crime offenses, fraud, or involvement in her husband's death. These are serious issues that we cannot have a part in spreading or documenting until there is some kind of resolution (convictions, etc) we can refer to. Biographies require strong sourcing, and it's important to remember we are not a tabloid. Just because something was published about someone doesn't mean we immediately include it. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:47, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The biography section was an unsourced mess of POV and allegations. I've removed it completely as I couldn't come up with a structure that did not violate WP:BLP. It can be be built up again using independent reliable sources. --NeilN talk to me 04:04, 15 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
