Article split edit

This article is about cartography and mathematics simultaneously, which are two entirely separate concepts. I would say that this is probably cause for a split. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 23:29, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't see enough content to justify splitting these concepts, and this would only result in one stub-size article. +mt 20:11, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I know it's been over a year, but I just wanna say that the size of the article doesn't really matter. According to WP:STUBDEF, a small article can be fine if there's not much to say about the subject in the first place. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 17:26, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok, go for it! +mt 01:11, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I sure did try, but I ended up finding little success. Plus, I think my mind has melted a little bit now. I only have an idea of the general plan: turn this page into a disambiguation page, and move the math content to Map coloring (mathematics) and the cartography content to Map coloring (cartograpy). As for how I am supposed to do that, I've been trying to figure it out, but it is extremely confusing. I'll try calling for help. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 18:30, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
The mathematics of color mapping is already covered in articles about graph theory and the four color theorem. This article can probably be streamlined to better relate to those articles, but I don't think it warrants a new article. Curran919 (talk) 22:18, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oppose. I agree with Curran919. The mathematics section here is basically a tip that there is a mathematical theory, with WP links to relevant articles. That seems sufficient for this article, which is (appropriately) mainly about cartography. Zaslav (talk) 04:46, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I've refocused the article on the cartography concept and redirected the reader to the math concept with a hatnote. fgnievinski (talk) 01:31, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
