Manuscript vs preprint

edit

Note that a "manuscript" is a much broader concept than a "preprint". A manuscript only becomes a preprint if it gets somehow distributed beyond the authors themselves (and perhaps a colleague whom they ask for advice). --Randykitty (talk) 11:18, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Klbrain: I reverted your merger. You may discuss this issue at Talk:Preprint#Merge with Manuscript (publishing)?. Thank you.--Neo-Jay (talk) 01:59, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Explicitness of subject

edit

One problem with this article is that it doesn't explicitly explain the type of manuscript it is describing. It just talks about manuscripts, which is potentially confusing considering there is an article on manuscripts in general. Jonpatterns (talk) 15:54, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
