Talk:Mandy (Billy & Mandy)

Cleanup edit

IMHO, this article (mainly the Biography Section) needs:

  1. spelling and grammar checked
  2. removal of redundancies (i.e. almost the same thing about the episode My Fair Mandy is repeated in both the 'biography' and 'Mandy's smile')
  3. make the article less opinionated - reduce the number of anti-Mandy comments ("Out of everyone else she is serverly hated by most viewers do to the fact she always bosses everyone around and is so full of herself." should be removed or referenced.)
  4. Again IMHO, this article focuses too much on how (admittedly) cruel Mandy is. Even the paragraphs which (I think) try to provide a counter-balance come off as snarky and forced.
  5. Break it up into sections, paraphrase better, do whatever you need to make each paragraph more distinct. It just seems to me that the biography section is very unfocused. Much of it could be reworded and put in the trivia section.

Tear this request apart, agree with it, do whatever. LordSarir 19:25, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The article has grown fast and now it's completely unfocused. Also, the article could use a better picture -- Kwinston 22:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I did a little clean-up. I put some things in trivia, and deleted "passing by" comments that created mess. I think it's better now, but it still needs some work -- Kwinston 23:17, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stop it edit

This article is flooded with personal comments and speculations. I deleted this:

"In the first season of the show, Mandy was not as dark and sadistic as she is portrayed now, and was actually just a little moody and bossy. This is because the first season was written by Maxwell Atoms, and from the second season onward, they were written by other staff members."

  • That is already said in the main section;
  • The remaining is a speculation.

"Mandy is often disliked by fans of the show because of her sadistic attitude and nearly demonic control over everyone, including her own parents"

  • No needs to explain. If somebody doesn't like her, then the article should speak for itself.

I will watch the article, and delete similiar statements. -- Henk65 11:16, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

These things should be clarified a bit more, but not so much that nearly ALL of it has to be deleted. After all, even if the article should explain for itself, it needs to be clarified to back it up. Most of these comments are almost the truth, and there is no need to delete them just because of opinions. It is an encyclopedia after all, and this piece needs to be clear enough. They are voicing out who Mandy REALLY is. (And please put your sigs in here!) --Seishirou Sakurazuka 03:12, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, the article already clearly says that she is rude to everyone and similiar -- Henk65 11:16, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

I uploaded a new image. I think it's better than the last one -- Henk65 19:23, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Design similarity to Bubbles edit

At least to me, Mandy's basic design resembles Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls, side by side comparison:

Bubbles
Mandy's current design

Does anyone agree? WizardDuck 03:19, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Wow, they both have blond hair. They're practically twins. 75.26.161.248 21:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Actually, a lot of people seem to think so. If you search around you can find images of Mandy in bubbles clothing and things like that. I'm fairly sure this is not with mentioning in the article however. Any large eyed small blond cartoon girl with an oval head will look like bubbles. Nitwit005 01:00, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wait a Minute edit

Does'nt mandy have a dog named saliva? Sould that be added?

  • Siliva is listed under "Mandy's Family" on the main article. Nitwit005 00:57, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Mandy(GBM).jpg edit

Image:Mandy(GBM).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
