Correct Māori spelling (Manawatū) edit
The correct Māori spelling is Manawatū (with the accent over the u). This article was created when the Council used "Manawatu", but they have since changed to "Manawatū". Therefore: This page should be moved to a new one titled "Manawatū District Council", and: Every instance of "Manawatu" therein be changed to "Manawatū"
