Notability edit

@Xenobia4: This song does indeed have various sources confirming its existence and charting information, but the existing of something alone does not merit inclusion in Wikipedia, and a song having charted does not change that. All the sources in the article seem to mention the song without actually discussing it, being only product pages, discographies, or chart listings. I could not find a source online that takes this song as a subject in a non-trivial manner (although I do not speak Japanese and one could exist in Japanese). Can you present a source that discusses this song non-trivially? Sjrct (talk) 14:48, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Charting on official charts is the main thing to have a wiki article. There are YouTube one hit parodies that are given wiki pages without issue. "Manatsu no Magic" is a debut single by a very popular group, but having come out 15 years ago (and in Japan), when the Internet was still up and coming, finding English sites isn't easy. I can source to a page where Lead talks about their debut single back in 2015 if need be. But it's also in Japanese (which isn't an issue for a single to have a page). To paraphrase WP:GNG, something is notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable 3rd party sources, which this song does not appear to have to me. A song charting does not alone merit inclusion. I am going to bring this to AfD so other editors can weigh in. Sjrct (talk) 16:25, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
