Jackson wrote lyrics?

edit

What is the source for the assertion that Jackson wrote the lyrics for "Man in the Mirror?" The song is always credited "written and composed by Glen Ballard and Siedah Garrett"--whatever "written" (lyrics?) and "composed "(music?) means. Regardless, Jackson is not credited as a songwriter for this track, ever--on the Bad album, in the music publishing, or anywhere. So what's the story with Jackson supposedly writing the lyrics?

Notice under "Credits" it says "Written and composed by Siedah Garret and Glen Ballard" - I suggest any credit to Jackson be deleted with regard to this song. [unsigned]

To whoever wrote this: the person who is credited under written, wrote the lyrics and music for that song. The person credited under composed wrote that version (arrangement) of the song. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:31, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh and also, deleting all credit to Michael Jackson would mean that he has no association with the song which is not true. He is the one who sang the song. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:34, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Do we want a section listing covers? One I am listening to at the moment is by Texas Lightning a German, Country & Western band. JP Godfrey 13:00, 15 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

What is the meaning to the lyrics of this song? What inspired this song? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.92.19.237 (talk) 13:23, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moonwalker

edit

I think the Moonwalker clip featuring the song should be noted in the article. You know, the beggining of the film, which shows a concert from the Bad World Tour and also showing some historical clips. BrowndRemastered 13:15, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Shamo"?

edit

What does the "shamo" mean that Jackson says in this song and several others? CFLeon (talk) 23:22, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey, 1st of all its spelt `shamone' and its a `cool' way of saying `come on'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.97.52.222 (talk) 11:04, 22 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't actually mean anything specific usually. It's one of many ad-libs in Jackson's songs. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:35, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ad-libs in the Concerts

edit

In many of MJ's concerts when he sings Man in the Mirror, when the back chorus goes "Yeah! Make that change... Man in the mirror", MJ often says something like "Gendemenemaner", usually followed with some "You know it"s. Can someone tell me what he is saying? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.55.69.63 (talk) 00:17, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Struck-en?

edit

"many were struck-en to see if they were genuine tears", what does that mean? 92.238.128.101 (talk) 18:11, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Obviously, it's an error for 'streaking' and there were nude people running around crying. WHY they were crying is the REAL question. 67.160.156.24 (talk) 05:53, 7 December 2010 (UTC) (:D)Reply

This article contains next to no information about the song itself. What are the lyrics about, what is the musical style and structure, etc.? AJD (talk) 15:31, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
