Why is this a notable person entry? 1. This person is the first woman editor of a major and respected English-language newspaper in India. 2. It is the second or third largest circulated English language daily newspaper (depending on whose numbers you choose to believe). 3. It is one of the oldest newspapers in India (started in September 1878), founded before India's independence in August 1947, and run by Indians since the beginning. 4. This person is a member of the family that owns the newspaper, and owns/controls part of the company's stock.This newspaper being an important part of South Indian daily life, and its impact on national affairs, the biography of executive members of the family are important. Malini Parthasarathy is the first woman to become an editor of a prestigious newspaper 'THE HINDU' which is more than a century old. The HINDU is one of the widely read newspapers in India, especially in Southern parts of India. It has a legacy of operation since 1878, making it one of the oldest operating newspaper in the country.
She was also the first Indian journalist to interview Pervez Musharaf, the then President of Pakistan.
How could a person from such a prestigious family and holding a high position in a widely read newspaper not meet stature of importance? However more information on the personal and professional life of the personality is expected from the author.
