Failed "good article" nomination edit

This article has failed its Good article nomination. This is how the article, as of April 21, 2020, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: The article needs a significant amount of cleanup related to MOS issues and the use of non-standard headings. There are also issues with the use of long lists, such as the sea of blue in the Taluks and Villages section, and . The notable people section needs to be drastically pared down to shorter descriptions, organized based on profession rather than alive/deceased, and alphabetized by family name.
2. Verifiable?: There are far too many paragraphs without an inline citation, or those lacking sufficient ones (e.g. the Tourism section relying on only two sources for a wall of text). Far too many citations seem to point to government websites, which aren't as suitable as secondary sources. I also take issue with citing TriAdvisor, a tourism bureau, IndeianFootball.com, and a whole host of other questionable or outright unreliable sources.
3. Broad in coverage?: The sections are quite unbalanced in content, with very little said about the Economy as a whole but tons of focus on mineral extraction.
4. Neutral point of view?: Several sections use promotional language ("abundant", "boasts", "rich") that are not suitable here.
5. Stable?: The nominator has been recently warned of copyright issues related to this article, so a more thorough check will be needed.
6. Images?: The images are a bit excessive in number, and the captions need a lot of cleanup.

With all of this from a relatively quick browse through the article, I can't see it being able to pass without significant amounts of work. I suggest looking at sub-national/state GA/FA articles from other countries to see proper sectioning and balancing of promotional content.

When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.— SounderBruce 08:34, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
