The image
editIf they distinguished themselves by wearing elaborate clothing then why is there a portrait of a naked lady on the top of the article??? I'm going to assume it is vandalism and remove it. Miagirljmw14 Miagirljmw_talk 20:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Page Split
editI think this page really needs to be split into a disambiguation page and the majo of an artistic scene. There's already a "For the Swedish singer from The Sounds, see Maja Ivarsson." line, so shouldn't we have a page full of the "other uses"? I'll create a disamb. page in 7 days if there are no contraindications or disagreements below (let me know if you think I'm wrong!). Mononomic (talk) 19:42, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
hi there. i deleted the lines that talked about the expressions of the yougnsters in the territory of Aragon using "majo" and their derivative words , cause they were not relevant at all... (the word "majo" and similar expressions are used by the youg people in all the territories of Spain). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.152.128.100 (talk) 13:44, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Lower Class?
editFrom everything here they appear to be quite well-off ... It doesn't appear that any majos or majas would be digging ditches or working in fields. Is the intention that they are from the lower eschelons of spanish upper class society of that time? or maybe it is Society with a capital S, implying that society is only referring to polite society, again upper classes? I made the change please correct if needed Cullen kasunic (talk) 15:48, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yes I did. Please don't edit on the basis of your own guesses - find sources. Like other contemporary street-dandies, they are usually said to have come from the urban lower middle class. See Muscadin etc. Johnbod (talk) 01:54, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
