Very poorly written. edit

What happened? edit

Not German; Lebanese edit

Quote: "Charr hat trotz lange gestelltem Einbürgerungsantrag noch gar keinen deutschen Pass." I.e. he applied for citizenship a long time ago, but he doesn't have German citizenship yet.

- None of those documents are proof of German citizenship. The Express story above is more recent than the Bild article. The lawyers denied a different statement from a previous article. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung headline sums up the situation: "Is boxing champion Charr really German?" Until his citizenship has been clarified I think we should leave it out of the article or explain that there are conflicting reports.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 22:45, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

- It is called "Is boxing champion Charr really German?" because of the false reports and the answer to the question in the article is yes. I thought that was the other express article but your one just says he wants to defend his title as a German citizen in Cologne next. It is clarified as when asked if he has a German passport he tells BILD "Yes, I swear it." Naue7 (talk) 23:06, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- I disagree with your interpretation of the FAZ article. It does not answer the question, it only presents several inconsistent statements from Charr. How do we know which reports are false and which are not? Essen shooting edit
The shooter was a longterm friend of al-Charr, beeing trained as a boxer by a cousin of him. Both are part of the lebanese clan in Essen. Name change edit
As a recent editor pointed out, Charr changed his name from Manuel back to his birth name, Mahmoud, in April 2019 ([1][2][3]). Media outlets have since followed suit as seen in these links [4][5][6][7]. The name change falls inline with WP:NAMECHANGES. – 2.O.Boxing 02:21, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
