Sloane Square
editI removed the following, which was unsourced.
- The square is officially named "Sloane Square" and signs in the square indicate it as such, but area residents have always called it by its older name, Magoun Square.
The City of Somerville website calls it Magoun Square. Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 12:57, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Named after Thatcher Magoun?
editThis article, along with a couple of others that link to it, currently claim that Magoun Square is named after Thatcher Magoun. However, the references and external links currently provided don't seem to establish this connection, and I haven't been able to locate any non-Wikipedia-related sources to back up this claim. However, there are other references, here and here, along with the Adams-Magoun House article, that suggest that Magoun Square is actually named after John Calvin Magoun. Therefore, I'm replacing references to Thatcher Magoun with John Calvin Magoon. Of course, if anyone has additional information that sheds additional light on this, it is certainly welcome.--GregRM (talk) 03:06, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
