The laser transitions figure is very misleading. There are no allowed transitions from the P3/2 state to the P1/2 state. The P1/2 state shouldn't even be shown here as it is not relevant to the discussion. It is clear that no expert in the field has seen this figure. 65.215.34.66 (talk) 23:10, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- This specific figure is widely used in expert level discussion of the operation of the MOT, and clearly states that the transitions from P1/2 to P3/2 are forbidden (although without mentioning why) 92.238.51.1 (talk) 08:38, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
