- MP10 Engine
The Mack MP10 engine is indeed Volvo D16C based with EGR technology and produced by Volvo Powertrain Corp at Hagerstown in Maryland for North American market.In fact all the engines are from Volvo, MP8 -> D13 , MP7 -> D11, and of course both Mack and Volvo are pretty quiet about it too as it may upset some die hards. The pictures don't lie, put the engines side by side and you'll notice the resemblance in the core engine components just painting it different color and adding different rocker covers and sumps is not enough, however engine software may be different depending on application.
