Incorrect image & data
editThe boat pictured is either the 26D or 26S (or possibly even a 25), but is certainly not the M or X models. Look for the window lines and the lack of steering wheel that are present on the X & M models.

Production run numbers are incorrect
editReference from Practical-Sailor.com has some production numbers, but data is from article on Jan 1, 2000.
https://www.practical-sailor.com/issues/26_1/boatreview/3994-1.html "Originally introduced as the 26X, the new model replaced an earlier MacGregor 26, a water-ballasted sloop previously reviewed in PS (November 1, 1987 and August 1, 1995); 7,000 of the first model were produced. Since its introduction in 1995, 4,000 of the new 26s have been built, and the company enjoys a backlog of orders stretching into 2001. MacGregor sees no need to increase production, which currently turns out one boat every two hours." — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobinsonCruiseOh (talk • contribs) 19:34, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing the issue here. The sailboatdata.com refs only have production numbers for the "X" model at 5,000 and I have added that and removed the overall number. The Practical Sailor article isn't of much use, because as you quote it above it mentions the "X" model, but indicates there was a previous model with 7000 produced, In fact the "X" was preceded by two models, the "D" and "S", so it is wrong on that. It doesn't have enough data to update anything here.
- As a side note we don't tag articles as needing photos as almost all Wikipedia articles need them. Also the image of an "X" model File:MacGregor 26X 0412.jpg is registered as an "X". not sure why you think is isn't one. - Ahunt (talk) 19:54, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- I think all of these issues have been addressed now. - Ahunt (talk) 14:09, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
