Deceptive opening

Now, MG is a wholly Chinese-owned company. Yes, it does have assets in the U.K. but it is Chinese. This wikipedia page seems to be written to confuse by mentioning SAIC UK and then China. Was this written to make readers believe this is a UK company? In Asia, brand is so powerful and most Chinese would not choose a Chinese brand over something from Europe. Write the article so that is say the truth directly. MG is a Chinese company now.2405:9800:BC30:7644:F457:47FD:1169:1391 (talk) 01:19, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

I agree the article is confused, but I think this article was created to cover the British company, MG Motor, which is a subsidiary of a Chinese company. This article should only contain material specific to the British company (unless there is consensus to broaden its scope and probably to rename it) and other stuff related to the parent company should be in the article about that company. -- DeFacto (talk). 08:59, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
There are many things wrong about your statement. First it's chinese owned but the design is heavily British and the cars are manufactured in China. Secondly, the article doesn't confuse. People in Australia are pretty familiar with LDV as a chinese owned brand. Same with Chinese people in china knowing that MG is a chinese company but with a heavy british design. Chinese brands aren't the same as a decade ago. They are pretty proud of their Haval or BYD suvs and huawei phones. They are not ashamed of chinese branding as you imply and not malicously trying to hide it. BUT MG Motor UK Limited (MG Motor) is technically a British automotive company legally headquartered in Birmingham, England, and a subsidiary of SAIC Motor UK, which in turn is owned by the Shanghai-based Chinese state-owned automotive SAIC Motor. I see nothing wrong with calling a british company headquartered in britian as british. The higher company that owns it, is legally separate and not the same company. And why I have to disagree.49.195.196.223 (talk) 10:23, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
