In Vietnamese officially historical records, such as Đại Việt Sử ký toàn thư or Khâm Định Việt sử thông giám cương mục all wrote that Mac Dang Doanh (son of Mac Dang Dung) died in 1540 and Mac Dang Dung never ruled again after death of his son.
