Merge with Lycorma meliae edit

According to the most recent literature, Lycorma olivacea is just an adult stage of Lycorma meliae and not a separate species. Mainly, the papers [1] and [2] argue that Lycorma olivacea is just a subordinate synonym of Lycorma meliae. Most databases have not yet updated to reflect this opinion. Want to see if there is consensus before redirecting this page to Lycorma meliae. 🏵️Etrius ( Us) 01:14, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I work on fulgorids and I've been aware of this synonymy for many years now, having seen a paper by a high school student linked here a long while back. It seems that someone has finally formally published the synonymy, which is great to learn. I would say it's safe to go ahead with the merge, given the citation is now in the peer-reviewed literature. There will be a few loose ends tracking down links to the old olivacea article, but it should be fairly straightforward. Thanks for spotting this new paper! @Dyanega, Thanks for getting back, I totally didn't forget about posting this. I'll merge them probably next week, time depending. 🏵️Etrius ( Us) 16:07, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Agree - ref provided. My only concern is the difference in pictures @ Commons. Roy Bateman (talk) 08:00, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
