@Rosiestep: I was a bit unsure if this was quite ready for mainspace yet because most of the sources with substantial coverage are written by the same guy (not merely reprints, but WP:GNG makes this seem like it might push this into more borderline-notability territory). However, the newspaper coverage that took place in the early 1900s seems like it's enough to throw it over that hurdle. I was hoping that maybe you'd have a way to actually access these newspaper accounts? Clovermoss🍀(talk) 07:20, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi Clovermoss. Thanks for writing this article. It's interesting, notable, and important. The subject of the article is a court case (not a person) so I recommend renaming it Lulu Anderson v. The Brown Investment Company and adding it to Category:Alberta case law and Category:Canadian civil rights case law. You could make Lulu Anderson a redlink. If you need admin help with deleting "Lulu Anderson v. The Brown Investment Company" to make way for the rename, just let me know.
Afterward, if you are able to find enough information to write Lulu's biography, that would be a different article.
Thanks for reaching out to me and thanks for what you do around here. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:37, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Rosiestep: Done I didn't think about that, which is odd, given that I've written about a legal case before. Were you able to find any newspaper coverage of the trial itself other than references to it? Clovermoss🍀(talk) 15:34, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Clovermoss - Nice! (Didn't have time for more than a cursory search.) --Rosiestep (talk) 16:50, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Rosiestep Let me know if you find anything if you do have a chance to take a deeper look. I'd really appreciate it. I'd feel better if notability was more firmly established that way. Clovermoss🍀(talk) 12:00, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Clovermoss - I think the article meets WP:N, but you might check-in with WP:WikiProject Law if in doubt. Also, a friendly FYI: you can ask for help with finding more references about specific women at the Women in Red talkpage. Especially if you mention that she had ties to Alberta, Canada, you may get some assistance from those who have best access to Canadian sources. --Rosiestep (talk) 22:24, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Rosiestep: Okay, thanks! I have access to some Canadian sources because I'm Canadian. Specifically from Ontario, so maybe someone whose actually in Alberta would have better ideas. I pinged you because I vaguely remembered some previous interactions where you were really good at finding archived newspaper sources? I was hoping that maybe you'd be able to point me in a good direction there again. It's possible I misremembered or the situation was different, though. I wouldn't have created the article if I thought this wasn't notable... it was more a concern that maybe it might be more borderline given specific phrasing at GNG that people may have different perspectives on. I usually tend to err on the side of draftspace/not creating in circumstances where I'm uncertain. A second perspective tends to help in those cases. :) Clovermoss🍀(talk) 03:55, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
