1. I believe that LUKOY (actually LUKOY.PK) is not a NASDAQ, not a PinkSheet stock (GDR).

2. "Russia's second largest oil company, LUKOIL is the largest producer of oil in Russia" may need a little clarification. I believe the author means that the LUKOY is the largest hydrocarbon company in Russia. GAZPROM does not produce as much oil as LUKOIL, but if its gas production is converted into oil equivalent, then it's larger than the LUKOIL.

Contradiction

Is the company headquartered in Moscow (per lead) or New York (per userbox)? Andrew Levine 02:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC) As User:Wiz126 has clarified issue, I removed contratict tag. Beagel 08:25, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I read : LUKOIL carries out exploration and/or production of oil and gas in Russia and (as of 2008) ten other countries: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Colombia, Venezuela, Belgium and Saudi Arabia. Is there a lot of oil in my little europese country Belgium ? :-)) In my country, we found oil only in engine not in the ground !(user :www.photo-web.net) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.29.97.144 (talk) 06:52, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where is the source for this claim: "LUKOIL carries out exploration and/or production of oil and gas in Russia and (as of 2008) ten other countries: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Colombia, Venezuela, Belgium and Saudi Arabia"? Belgium and Egypt don't have any oil and I can't find any confirmation of a deal between Lukoil and Iraq.

There is no source cited there for what you've typed. Warren (talk) 21:33, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Contraversy?

edit

The Contraversy section just includes a couple of (well referenced) positive paragraphs about Lukoil's environmental record. I suspect that this section once had some criticism but it has been countered and deleted. Either the criticism needs to go back in with good references or this section needs retitling as it is no longer a Contraversy! Epeeist smudge (talk) 14:27, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Lukoil stations in central Pennsylvania being converted back to Mobil

edit

A number of Lukoil stations in central Pennsylvania, especially near Lebanon, Pennsylvania, have suddenly converted back to Mobil stations in January 2012. Another one in Lebanon, PA has become an "Issis Oil" (sic). I can find NO information online about this changeover. Bill S. (talk) 21:44, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's interesting. I think we need to find a source to add it though. Warren (talk) 22:22, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Any luck finding a source? No pun intended. Warren (talk) 22:51, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Out of date

edit

I took down the out of date flag. Article doesn't seem like it's out of date to me. Warren (talk) 00:30, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I put out of date boxes on sections that have no data from the last 2 years- which is practically everything.--Wuerzele (talk) 19:18, 12 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

What is Lukoil doing in sustainability engineering?

edit

I would like the major fossil fuel company articles to indicate how they intend to transition to carbon-neutral fuels such as this work and "power to gas." I need to know whether they support emerging chemical engineering research such as catalysts for carbon-neutral transportation fuels, whether they are working on compressed air energy storage such as [1] and [2], airborne wind turbines such as [3], and on extracting carbon from seawater such as this PARC method in order to solve their long-term corporate viability issues. I do not believe it is possible to have a truly balanced article on a fossil fuel company without some indication of their long term prospects. Tim AFS (talk) 04:26, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I also need to know whether they are developing electrical grid energy storage in their existing expended oil and gas caverns along with mineshafts and mines for pumped-storage hydroelectricity where ordinary hydroelectric power is unavailable. Tim AFS (talk) 09:09, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The gas flare over Lukoil's Kstovo plant is a major local landmark

Image should be deleted, it is not Lukoil's flare, but Sibur's ones. Plants adjoin with each other and even locals often confused. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.64.72.254 (talk) 16:40, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Murder of Viktoria Teslyuk

edit

I'd like to mention the murder of Viktoria Teslyuk, the 16-year-old daughter of Robert Teslyuk, a senior executive at Lukoil. It has been suggested in multiple news articles that kidnapping was a possible motive.

There might be a better article in which to add this information?

Controversies - Incidents - January 25, 2011

edit

The sentence, "Fire extinguished more than 50 fighter," is either bad English or a copy-paste error or both.

The reader cannot tell whether it took more than 50 firefighters to stop the blaze, or whether "extinguished" meant that more than 50 people died.

I searched the web, but could not find any relevant information.
