Lead says both that he has been convicted and that he hasn't

Very confusing. Can anyone clear that up? -- Kendrick7^talk 19:38, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

It is a mistake. He was convicted and he served time before escaping from a Venezuelan prison. Poyani (talk) 22:02, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Wrong. He had not been convicted before escaping from Venezuela. He was convicted in Panama, served time and was pardoned, but not for bombing Cubana flight 455. Later conviction for 455 was by in absentia only, which is a very controversial area of criminal justice. Not recognized as fair trial in the US and most democracies. --Hvd69 (talk) 09:52, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

"terrorist" and FBI mention in lead

The lead section that accurately mentions that the FBI considers him a terrorist should reconcile this with the fact that the US still refuses to extradite him, including to neutral countries such as Panama that have sought his extradition. 73.195.132.140 (talk) 21:27, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
