There are severe issues with this stub. The first issue is Find a Grave is a reference; and the only one at that. The second is that the "only" reference, that has been determined to be unreliable by multiple avenues of consensus, is in conflict (or has acute vagueness) with information in the article. The difference in "over" 150 movies and 200 movies means there needs to be a better source. The third thing is that I could not find information on this person that is in English and then there are not many references at all. I did not tag the article or remove Find a Grave as a reference as this would put the article subject to an AFD. Someone that speaks Spanish needs to work on this article that can interpret and add proper references to prevent edits that will result in the article being deleted. - Hi Otr500. Thanks for raising these concerns. I've added a ref for an award this person had in 2000 (albeit in Spanish). IMDB lists 153 entries, and I would say that's more reliable than Findagrave (certainly on film counts, well excluding Japanese cinema, but that's another story...!) Even if it didn't have any refs, I would be amazed if this was deleted, based on a CV of at least 150 films/TV shows, which would pass WP:ENT. Thank you. I would not want such an article deleted thus the reason for my comments. The reference you added, in Spanish, may raise some flags as this is the English version. I don't know how that will work so we will have to see. WP:NOTABILITY is certainly not an issue in my view but with that many movies there has to be more references somewhere on this person that just needs to be dug up. I no not like drive-by tagging and try to always start on the talk page but the above mentioned notability dictates that there needs to be more than an unreliable reference to create an article or for it to survive. This has been argued at great length concerning Find a Grave, that was the beginning of many such articles and I am trying to work on it while being fair. I like Find a Grave and IMBd but both are not considered reliable by Wikipedia so if I would have moved Find a Grave to an external links section the article would have been left with no source or reference and even I could have argued for an AFD. I am not an advocate for deletions, unless an article has no merit, but in following the "rules" it could happen right? IMBd does have some oversight giving it an edge but... still not enough. You did place it in the correct section and added elpais.com to the references. This means Find a Grave can be moved to the external links section, and possible a "One source" tag added, but now avoiding deletion as a possibility. Otr500 (talk) 21:00, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yes, I hate the drive-by tagging too. The Findagrave ref is used in the context that he was alive during those years and was a Spanish actor. That would look OK to me, but I wouldn't be too bothered if it was moved into the external links section. The Spanish ref should be fine too - I've seen articles taken to AfD with the rationale of "it only has refs in x language" only for them to be kept. Lugnuts (talk) 08:59, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
I moved Find a Grave to the external links section per discussion and consensus that it is an unreliable source. This is now a referenced stub that passes the criteria and can hopefully be expanded. I am still looking, without any success so far, for more references. Since I do not understand Spanish maybe someone can look at the Spanish Actors Union to see what is there? Since nothing at this point is contested one more reference would fiend off a "One source" tag.
