Composer of sacred works?

edit
  • ...he also worked as director of the Radost Youth Choir, for whom he wrote a large number of sacred works.
  • is it translated from Czech?:
  • V Brně též spolupracoval se souborem mládeže Radost, pro který složil velký počet masových písní.
  • "masová píseň" is not a "sacred song" (or work), it means rather "music for masses", and it is apparently the politically engaged optimistic music characteristic for the new "perfect" communist world of the 1950s.--Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:53, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've added a short explanation of his participation in the cultural scene of the post-war Czechoslovakia, using an article published by the Czech folk music magazine Folk Time. The "budovatelské písně" songs are still re-published in the Czech Republic (see this CD) and they're so stupid that people consider them funny today. However, it was not so funny back in the 1950s, it was deadly serious masquerade and propaganda of the régime promoting fear and harrasment.--Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:53, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
