@Fayenatic london:, this is years late but I thought in case you were still wondering, it means his father and paternal grandfather were named Gaius. G(aius) f(ilius) G(aius) n(epos), meaning "Gaius's son, Gaius's grandson" esentially. The use of C instead of G in praenomina that started with G was a tradition in ancient Rome left over from archaic spelling when the C and G sounds were closer in old Latin.★Trekker (talk) 15:40, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
