About Crime Family Name Change

Remember one of the most important things about the mob specifically the 5 families. "RESPECT" they would not change the name from Lucchese to Melquest, since this would be a direct disrespect to the family who made them. If you ever have the chance to witness in person and up close the funeral of a head of a crime family you will immediately come to the understanding of this fact, and to this I mean you no disrespect either.

Name change

According to Wikipedia naming convention and category consistancy the article should be under Lucchese crime family. 205.188.116.67 11:17, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Was Red Kelly the hockey player really a soldier? 68.197.27.216 22:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Melquist Family

Could someone verify that the Luchese crime family is presently known as the Melquist family as stated in the article ? 205.188.116.67 11:17, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There doesn't seem to be any sources that I'm aware off that refer to the present day Lucchese crime family as the Melquest Family. Until a reference is listed, and considering Melquist is a Swedish surname, I've removed the statement until it can be verified by someone. MadMax 22:29, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

Neutrality, Professionalism

I don't know how ones does so, but could someone 'flag' this article [on several accounts]? Not only does the author sound somewhat biased and unable to cite sources for virtually anything, he/she writes far too creatively or colorfully for an encyclopedia article.

Fencing

In the first paragraph the link directs to the wrong type of fencing. Last I checked, sport sword dueling wasn't illegal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.4.41.171 (talk) 04:53, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Masseria murder

I believe Masseria was murdered in a restaurant on Coney Island as Luciano went to the toilet not outside his apartment.

Giacomo "Jackie" DiNorscio

Why does DiNorscio redirect to Lucchese crime family without a single mention of him? It should at least indicate that the page is incomplete and a link to Lucchese crime family as well as The Jersey Crew. --SonicBrew (talk) 21:44, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Capo/Boss of the Jersey faction section

I would like to move the section into The Jersey Crew article, the leading capo/boss of the faction has no power in the administration. He only holds power in the Jersey faction; he still is only a capo to the New York leaders. --Vic49 16:17, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Anthony "Buddy" Luongo

Anthony "Buddy" Luongo was a capo in the Bronx faction. He wanted to become boss but was murdered; the three candidates to replace Corallo were Luongo, Amuso and Casso. In December 1986, Luongo was murdered by Brooklyn capo Victor Amuso and soldier Anthony Casso.

  • The Mafia Made Easy: The Anatomy and Culture of La Cosa Nostra By Peter J. Devico (pg.175) states he was boss. He and the Bronx faction viewed him as the next boss, but was not appointed acting boss or boss by Corallo. --Vic49 (talk) 17:08, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Steven Crea as Boss

No official source for this claim. It seems that the person updating this unconfirmed fact is listening to Jerry Capeci - a self proclaimed expert on the subject, who people believe without fail. I bet people would also accept Capeci saying that the sky was purple and not blue! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.5.4.205 (talk) 13:52, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Vic - You want the Crea information to stay, you have to, by Wikipedia rules, state the source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.22.231.14 (talk) 22:13, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

What a good asshole you are.
