Misnamed and unsourced

edit

The name of this article Lr-diode is misleading, it looks as if it is the name of a type of diode, while the definition says it is a circuit. In the literature a chaotic circuit composed of inductors (L), resistors (R), and diodes is called an "L-R-diode circuit" or "LRD circuit" and if the article is kept the name should be changed to one of those. However the article also is unsourced, and has remained unsourced for 11 years. Unless someone comes up with some supporting sources, I am going to request deletion. --ChetvornoTALK 23:47, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Page name and sources

I've added some references. There are many names, including RL-Diode. Alternative names could be considered. TALK 12:45, 26 November 2017 (EST)

Did you read those sources? They are about a circuit consisting of an inductor (L), a resistor (R), and an ordinary diode, not something called an "Lr-diode". This needs to be made clear. Second, not all circuits consisting of those components are chaotic as the article states. Third, I don't think the single sentence given is important enough to merit a separate article. We already have articles about those components, and about nonlinear circuits, chaos theory, and chaotic circuits (Chua's circuit). Unless the problems with this stub are corrected, I am going to propose that it be merged. --ChetvornoTALK 20:04, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
