This wiki article is not doing anyone a service because it reads like an advertisement for the (admittedly well-intentioned) L3C form of entity, while not having any discussion of the inherent problems with L3Cs. There are a number of problems with L3Cs, and this article needs to be heavily-caveated to the effect that foundations should consult competent tax counsel that is knowledgable about the latest developments in the IRS's PRI rules before even considering an investment in an L3C. I would be horrified if a small foundation gets duped into investing in an L3C based on this article, and later finds out from the IRS that it is subject to massive excise taxes because it has blown its non-profit status. I tried to add a "Disadvantages" section, but it was undone noting that it was not "sourced". However, the "Advantages" section is not sourced either (other than one of the bullet point). This entry reads like an advertisement for L3Cs, notwithstanding the serious issues that surround the use of the L3C. By introducing the "Disadvantages" section, I am trying to provide readers with fair warning that there are some problems with L3Cs. It is irresponsible to do otherwise, and we are doing Wikipedia readers a disservice.Arlesd (talk) 18:26, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
