I've never heard of the TV show, but the song is well known to me, as are many many Waller tunes. The best of his day, and still up there as one of the very best, I think that this is a great thing to do. -Roxy the elfin dog . wooF 18:45, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
1935 version on archive.org edit
I found a 1935 version of the song, with an image of the record label and a recording, by "Geraldo and His Sweet Music". Not sure which parts are useful here in the article. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 19:05, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

- I wonder if someone can find original sheet music for it, so we can talk about it musically. My (totally OR) impression is that Waller's recording is a fairly conventional Bb major blues progression. All the sheet music I can find online seems to be some other non-authoritative person transcribing it. If it was described or analysed by some reliable source, that would be even better. Following her talk, Librarian James H. Billington presented Rep. Boggs with three gifts drawn from LC's collections in appreciation for her long and effective association with the Library of Congress: a facsimile of an 1801 letter from Mrs. Boggs's great- great-great grand-uncle William C.C. Claiborne to Thomas Jefferson, accepting a commission as governor of the Mississippi Territory; a facsimile of an 1817 map of New Orleans, which is in the congresswoman's district; and a facsimile of sheet music for a 1935 piece, "Louisiana Fairy Tale," accompanied by a cassette of the music with Fats Waller on piano and vocal.
