According to the Latvia article, Latvia was part of the Russian empire during the period of Berger's birth. TNXMan 20:24, 25 March 2

The magazine that Berger was on her way to was,in fact,Mother Earth not the Mother Earth Bulletin (that came in 1917).I have not seen any evidence at all of Berger working there.On a side note the photograph was taken on the day of the funeral of Hanson,Caron and Berg. All the best
