Racing car template edit

I've had a stab at a template for racing cars (see template:Racing car) to summarise the usual data. I've used the F1 templates as a starting point and applied it to the Brabham BT46 article. If anyone's got an interest in this, please have a look at the template and modify or suggest changes as appropriate. After a few people have had a go at it and we have something we're happy with we could start to use it more widely. Note that it's not meant to be specific to F1, by the way. Cheers. 4u1e 09:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

EF15B or EF15? edit

Standing at what these articles (Renault EF-Type engine, Renault in Formula One) say, the car couldn't have been powered by the EF15B, which was introduced the following season (1986). 95.244.181.160 (talk) 19:24, 17 July 2013 (UTC) TrifluxReply

Livery edit

Some images from the period, including this one and the headline image for Lotus 98T, show a modified livery with all references to John Player Special replaced with what look like laurel wreaths. It was apparently the result of a ban on tobacco advertising in Germany and the UK, but I can't find a good source. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 20:36, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

NB See also this image of Alain Prost's McLaren MP4/2 at the 1985 German Grand Prix, which has the Marlborough logo replaced with black stripes. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 20:45, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Ashley Pomeroy: This webpage (which at a quick glance looks like a reliable source) mentions voluntary agreements on the sponsorship of sport by tobacco companies in Germany and the UK, and shows an example of "Marlboro" being replaced by black stripes.
