Shouldn't we rename this now? edit

Her true identity is known ... time to rename this Kimberly Maclean. Daniel Case (talk) 03:00, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

See WP:COMMONNAME. Vanjagenije (talk) 18:53, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
We'll see how that plays out over time ... I suspect she will increasingly be referred to by her birth name, as the "Lori Erica Ruff" identity was originally obtained through deception and thus any and all records relevant will be amended to be in her birth name. Daniel Case (talk) 20:03, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
In the media the assumed name is predominant, so unless that changes going forward, the article should stay where it is. Everyking (talk) 00:39, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
It is predominant at the moment, so now is not the time to change it, I agree. But in five, ten years' time we should revisit this question. I suspect by that point most discussions of the case will say something like "Kimberly Maclean, a Pennsylvania woman who committed suicide under the assumed identity of Lori Erica Ruff in 2010 ..." Description edit

Do we still need this section? It was potentially helpful when her birthname was not known & someone could have identified her from it, but now that her original name & identity is known it really has no point. Unless every biographical article should have a description. -- llywrch (talk) 19:17, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

reaction from the family of Becky Sue Turner? edit

Has there been any published reaction from them and if so, should it be included in the article? Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 04:59, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Another reliable source may be available soon edit

I've been in contact with Maureen O'Hagan -- the journalist who wrote the original news story that brought attention to this case -- & she has a book in press about this case, providing more details than known before. Unfortunately, the book's release has been repeatedly delayed -- it was supposed to have come out this Spring, IIRC -- so it may never see the light of day. But if it does, it would be the most authoritative source on LEK's life, & worth using for this article. -- llywrch (talk) 07:14, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I just received notice that the ebook was released yesterday, & added it as an External link to the article. For the time being, I consider it the most authoritative source on this woman. (Disclaimer: I am quoted in it. But I don't consider anything I say crucially important to be included in this article.) -- llywrch (talk) 17:39, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Divorced or not divorced? edit

The second paragraph refers to the marriage collapsing and her former in laws while the next paragraph refers to her husband "after her death" making it unclear if they ever actually divorced or merely separated. Ttenchantr (talk) 05:59, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
