Is Lord Farquaad a sadist?
editI've been discussing with a few people and they think that Lord Farquaad is a sadist. He acts very sadisticlly towards the Gingerbread Man at the start of the film and he laughs at Shrek when he discovers that Shrek is in love with Fiona. So is Lord Farquaad a sadist?

Richard III

- I definitely think the character seems to be largely based on Richard III. He looks much more similar to actual portraits and contemporary depictions of Richard III than Charles V, and closely fits Richard III's frequent portail as an archetypal villain. Specifically his appearance, attire and mannerisms in Richard III (1955 film), an adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard III, are strikingly similar. It seems Richard III is much more likely to be a direct inspiration for Lord Faarquad than "Napoleon, Joseph Stalin, Hideki Tojo and even Adolf Hitler" as the page currently lists.

- I just came across the article for Bernardo Clesio and the portrait of him with red headgear reminded me of Farquaad. Their faces look a lot alike, except Farquaad's hair is longer and darker, so I could say he resembles Clesio with Richard III's hair. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 20:09, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

In the inspiration section, add the phrase "Farquaad's name is considered to resemble the word "fuckwad"'. Could use this as a ref.
