Merge
editThis article should be merged with one of the Baron Edgcumbe (that being the correct spelling) articles, as it most certainly to refers to one of the holders of that title - however, which one? --New Progressive (talk) 16:59, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Given that we are talking about "Lord Edgcumbe" in 1749 and earlier, that must have been the first Richard. Debresser (talk) 22:11, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Identified...
editOur hero is not mentioned in Joshua Reynolds, but the JR DNB article linked from there, at http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Reynolds,_Joshua_%28DNB00%29, has the useful line "... met Reynolds at Lord Edgcumbe's [see Edgcumbe, George, first Earl of Mount-Edgcumbe], ...". So I'm turning this into a redirect. PamD (talk) 18:35, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- The DNB article on George Edgcumbe, 1st Earl of Mount Edgcumbe does not mention JR in the text but lists numerous likenesses painted by him, which tends to confirm that we've got the right man. PamD (talk) 18:49, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
