Synthesis edit
Someone else added various tags at the top of this article in June 2016. They're right: it is full of synthesis. In particular, the actual premise that the various alleged branches are in fact connected is completely unsupported original research. I think we may have to split the article into separate ones for each "branch", and then ensure that they are properly sourced (which they most definitely are not at the moment). We are not a genealogy website and this article is an example of why that is A Good Thing. - Sitush (talk) 07:04, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
Totally agree. The premise that they are all branches of the one family is misleading, highly suspect and I believe incorrect in the absence of any authoritative verification. Brograve (talk) 10:13, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
Strewn with issues. From own particular knowledge, note the linking with William de Wykeham, whose father probably was 'nick-named' long, though little/nothing else is known, siting Fiennes as descendants (William de Wykeham did not have any children), and his relatives took up the surname Wykeham, in part a condition for inheritance. Notably also founded his seat near Wykham in North Oxfordshire, amongst the manors of the Wykham's of Swacliffe; which though notable, no evidenced link exists to this family either.
