This looks like an attempt to fascize the USA. Because of the long war, all civilian institutions will be gradually replaced with military ones and eventually USA will be Starship Troopers. The recent usage of the term Long War was coined by Philip Bobbitt in his book The Shield of Achilles. This deserves citation.
