Are we certain the image is of a Long-tailed Marmot and not of the Yellow Ground Squirrel, Spermophilus fulvus? --Aranae (talk) 21:17, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- It certainly looks a lot more like Spermophilus than Marmota: narrow tail, slender head. Ucucha 21:22, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Shifted photograph edit
The animals in the photograph that I shifted from Himalayan marmot are in Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, not in the Himalayan region or Tibetan Plateau. Leo1pard (talk) 10:04, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- It is not Himalayan marmot, it's Gray marmot Marmota baibacina centralis.
