Clearly someone has an axe to grind. Please be careful about POV. LNS is a foundation secondary school that admits boys only in Years 7 to 11 [1] and is co-ed at Years 12 & 13[2]. The school academic program is supported by close associations with the Maritime industry[3] and local football academy[4] offering a broad range of courses and qualifications in support of its curriculum. The school maintains its own fleet of boats on the Thames and hosts its own Sea Cadet Unit[5]. The school is prominent at all maritime related events across London maintaining links with the MSSC, Trinity House and Greenwich Hospital in particular
The school was inaugurated in 1915 in response to the Titanic disaster and subsequent Government inquiry[6]. In 1990, it became one of the country’s first 11-18 comprehensive secondary schools for boys to be awarded grant maintained status.[7] In September 1999, the school became became a Foundation School within the London Borough of Lambeth. The school is situated in Stamford Street on the south bank of the River Thames, in between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge.[8]
