32 clubs from Premier League to Isthmian League [2 rounds, then Q-F, S-F, F] For the big clubs, a chance for Under 21/Fringe players to impress. As with the League cup, cheap admission for children and families thereby tapping in to the next generation of support. For the smaller clubs, as with the FA cup, a home draw against a bigger club means not only the chance of a giant killing but increased revenue. Good PR for all concerned.
