In E. coli

edit

I came to wikipedia because I wanted to read more about the Lon-protease in E. coli. For instance I think it uses 2 ATP per peptide bond cleaved, but I wanted to verify that. When I came to wikipedia, though, there was only one mention of E. coli in the picture to the right; then a link towards a mitochondrial Lon protease.

Please someone also add E. coli specifically. Right now it is weird that wikipedia boldly states there is a FAMILY of Lon proteases, but then only mentions (!!!) a single one, e. g. the one in mitochondria. Instead, a few examples should be mentioned. I am not necessarily saying ALL Lon proteases to be mentioned, but E. coli is super-important, so at the least this, for a bacterial example, should be mentioned in one or two sentences please. 2A02:8388:1643:D680:C23D:D743:2A9C:ACFE (talk) 17:10, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
