I've not heard of the Lokavibhaga before, but several studies on the Khmer numerals have pushed the earliest and irrefutable certain use of zero as a numerical figure to the early VIIth century. This is not to say that zero didn't exist before, it just wasn't used as a full fledged decimal digit of its own. If the study on the Lokavibhaga is correct, then it would effectively precede Khmer. - Io Katai (talk) 00:34, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just looked up Khmer numerals and that's the first use of 0 as a numerical value but as it had separate symbols for 10, 20 etc it didn't use it for a decimal place notation. I'll edit the article to say this - I assume the 'wrongly claimed' is just a mistake? I'll just edit out the 'wrongly'. Robert Walker (talk) 13:00, 14 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
