I have tried my very best to cite the best sources available and make this article as up to Wiki standards as I can. Please do not reinstate the section, it is heavily biased and serves no place in the article other than to write a smear campaign against the subject of the article. KonveyorBelt 23:19, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

FYI

Logan River Academy has hired Marty Collins of Page 1 Marketting to try to clean up their online image. He has been posting fake reviews on Google+, in flagrant violation of their policy. Various individuals continue to update this page in favor of the school, despite action from wiki admins. Just take a look at the history of this page, and Google the subject. There is ample, verifiable information out there on these places and I think Wiki should reflect the truth, despite what lobbyists and P.R. people may try to do with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.193.140 (talk) 21:11, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Interesting

I was asked by a IPnumber to review this page. It does seem that the notability standard of the subject is reasonable, but this facility seems to have a great deal of negative publicity surrounding it. It has also seemed to be under attack from a number of I.P. numbers that could allow admins to restrict editing to registered users, and that should help with the attacks as well as curtail the COI edits.--WPPilot 21:24, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Accreditation

Educational accredidation is NOT residential accredidation. Please see #3: http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0185-residential-treatment-programs-teens "What about accreditation?

Several independent nonprofit organizations, like the Joint Commission (JACHO), the Council on Accreditation (COA), and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), accredit mental health programs and providers.

   JACHO accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the U.S.
   COA is an international child- and family-service and behavioral healthcare organization that accredits 38 different service areas, including substance abuse treatment, and more than 60 types of programs.
   CARF International is an independent accreditor of human services providers in areas including behavioral health, child and youth services, and employment and community services.

Ask whether all components of the program are accredited, for example, the base program, the drug and alcohol component, and the wilderness program. Then contact the accrediting organization for confirmation.

The GAO’s Report noted that one program claimed to be accredited by the JACHO, but in fact, only the base program was accredited. Neither the wilderness program nor the drug and alcohol component was accredited.

The organizations above grant accreditation and certification after evaluating the quality of services provided by a treatment program. Parents and guardians should be aware that some other organizations that claim to accredit schools may serve merely as membership organizations, and may not conduct site inspections or otherwise evaluate the quality of the programs they certify. If a treatment program claims to be certified or accredited, parents and guardians should contact the accrediting organization and ask about the standards the organization uses when issuing a certification."

Residential accredidation, however, is NOT a requirement for these types of establishments. All it is is an expensive title that only proves you had a meeting with some people one day, which you planned every piece of, and that they gave you their personal stamp of approval. Peopley is correct here, if you see the Utah State Law, available online, it does not say anything about residential accreditation. I think that information is very important and should be included in the article. It also can still include sources that are already there recommending that programs get accreditation, but I think to truly reach wiki standards, and to truly be accurate, all information should be included.Bookkeeper123456 (talk) 16:15, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Also, with the academic accreditation report, after reading through it I felt it was somewhat misrepresented on this page, and would like to add the quote, "The faculty and staff are warm and caring educators working diligently to serve the students of Logan River Academy. The Logan River Academy facilities are superior and well-cared for, from the cafeteria to the gymnasium, and there is a shared feeling of ownership—a distinct feeling of camaraderie and a common goal prevalent in the classrooms and hallways." I feel this will help make this section much more accurate to what the entire report says. I would like to leave the other improvements they mentioned as well to make sure everything is well represented.Bookkeeper123456 (talk) 20:12, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

That quotation is extremely promotional, and may be a violation of WP:NPOV. I understand that if it's being taken from a report, that it's not original research and not your or other editors' personal opinion but picking that out of a report looks like an effort to skew the article into being an advertisement of the school. -- Atama頭 20:49, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

If you read the report, it is overall very positive about the school. I feel as though this is a much better representation of the entire report than this section was previously, it was very negative and only picked out the few things the report had mentioned that they could improve while not giving any of the positive feedback from the report. I felt that giving this as a general statement and then also leaving in those specific improvements mentioned makes this a much better reflection of what the report actually says about the school, not just one persons view or opinion.Bookkeeper123456 (talk) 20:06, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
