'Rescue opera' is not a real genre (it's an early 20th-century invention) and no-one founded it so I think this is inaccurate. (Nor is it particularly early either.) Stephen Willis in his article on Lodoïska in Grove doesn't mention 'rescue opera' at all. --Kleinzach 10:24, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good for him. Other sources name it as a founding work of rescue opera (see, they're cited), and other sources also name rescue opera as a genre. I wouldn't be averse to removing "the genre of" from that sentence, just to avoid carrying over the argument, but it is acknowledged as a founding work of rescue opera. Can you please also undo the changes you have made to Rescue opera and List of opera genres? The latter is a list of historical terms and should not contain unhistorical ones. --Kleinzach 01:03, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
The same problem appears to exist with "Savoy Opera," which was in the list when you created it. Take your issue to RfC if you're unwilling to let it lie. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 07:17, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
My interest is in accurate, properly referenced articles, not in drama. There is a procedure for discussing article content issues. It's explained here: WP:BRD. It doesn't encompass multiple reversions and edit warring. --Kleinzach 02:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm glad to hear that your interest is in accurate, properly referenced articles. Then you should be content with the references I've provided stating that it is a founding work of rescue opera. Please read the essay you so kindly linked me, so that you can gain a perfect understanding of why it is not the appropriate process here. If you don't want this adequately sourced information in the article, make an effort yourself, do an RfC or 3O. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 02:56, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
